Original Breaks
Love to the world! Our first selection this week comes from one of the greatest sources of present day bboy soul and funk, Sharon Jones & Dap Kings. While the band has released many bboy smashes such as “Got a Thing on My Mind” and “How Long Do I Have to Wait for You,” this track really stands out.
Hear Kenny Rogers sing the original, which is also DOPE, as heard in the Big Lebowski, right here.
Just Dropped In (My Condition) – Sharon Jones & Dap Kings
From their website:
As distinguished as their recordings may be, Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings have become truly renowned thanks to their incredible live show and relentless touring. Although it’s no easy task to keep such a vast ensemble on the road, the band continues to pack hundreds of clubs worldwide, including two consecutive sold out shows last year at New York’s legendary Apollo Theatre, a historical evening at Celebrate Brooklyn! at the Prospect Park Band Shell that brought a reported crowd of nearly 20,000 people and show-stopping sets at SXSW, Coachella, Lollapalooza, Roskilde, Bonnaroo, Austin City Limits, North Sea Jazz Festival, and WOMAD. Most recently, the band has been invited by fellow soul enthusiast, Prince, to open for him at his shows in New York City, Paris, and Ghent.
And through Twitter we received this hip-hop video form KSlimm (@xKSLiMM). Check out his site for some bboy-friendly dope hip-hop.

Our next original selection this week comes from Brain Reward, central Florida kings of original bboy breaks consisting of DJ Cyber and M Chill. Brain Reward was one of the resident DJs at downtown Orlando’s legendary Down to Earth Mondays at the old AKA Lounge on Pine St.
“Eastern Flow Magic” is a track they sent to bboysounds in 2010, and check them out here for some more tracks.

House Dance with Danny Dance
A cool video tutorial from a series of videos by Danny Dance. In our humble opinion, every major bboy event should feature a house battle so the jackers can get busy!
