Dancer’s Theme (Original Extended Mix) – Danny Dance

So when the house is dope, play and they shall jack. That’s why Danny Dance, featured in past Bboysounds Weekly video selections, made it with his DOPE! house track, “Dancer’s Theme.”

Danny sent us his instructional jacking video to our Twitter page @bboysounds. Okay, I know that sounds weird, but you know we mean bboying to House music.

Some background on N.B.K. from their website:

“We “kill” it on the floor! We are at constant war with life’s struggles, frustrations, and pains, but we take it to the floor and “kill” it with ‘ground intelligence.’ We kill the ignorance and negativity’s that surround and suppress us in our lives and society, with every current of rhythm that bursts from our souls, from the beats of the music. Upholding the resilience and strength of this benevolent culture of Hip Hop, we are the Natural Born Killahz crew, representing the ‘201- Chilltown,’ Jersey City, New Jersey.” ~NBK

Weekly Classics

This is a must for your bboy music collection… Aquarian Dream comes from the Disco era and it’s worth your while to look them up online

You’re a Star – Aquarian Dream

Some background on Aquarian Dream, translated from Wikipedia en Espanol, so perdona:

Formed in 1976 by renowned musician and producer Norman Connors , the first album Aquarian Dream sees the light in 1976 , entitled Norman Connors Presents Aquarian Dream . The original band members were singer Gloria Jones , saxophonist Claude Bartee Jr. (who had played with jazz artists such as Grant Green or Pucho , etc.), guitarist Pete Bartee , keyboardist Jacques Burvick , percussionist Mike Fowler and drummer Jimmy Morrison . 1 Despite the quality of a proposal that fused the sophisticated soul funk of the band with the impressive voice of roots gospel of Jones, the album was a commercial failure for industry standards, r & b of the time . 2

Fantasy comes to light under the label Elektra in 1978 , introducing some changes in training. Despite this, and the change of singer (Jones had left the band and his place was taken by Sylvia Striplin ), the band’s sound, reminiscent of some of the best bands funk of the moment, as Eart Wind & Fire – had not changed much, thanks in part to the production work of Connors. The album is considered by critics as the best work of the band, but still could not get the commercial success that Connors was waiting. 3 Chance to Dance (1979), and without the production of Connors, introduced to the singerConnie Harvey while trying to exploit the phenomenon of disco music in vogue in the late 1970’s , but caused less critical impression on the band’s previous work and neither did the favor. 4 The band disbanded finally in 1979 .

And of course, who better to round it out than the godfather himself, Mr. James Brown? This is the rare full-length version of the bboy classic “Superbad.” It has an ad before the video, but it’s worth it so man (and woman) up!
