“Ain’t a problem that I can’t fix. Cause I do it – in the mix!”

Suede Chief

Taking samples and elements from Sister Sledge’s Disco hit “He’s the Greatest Dancer” plus “Last Night a DJ Saved My Life” by Indeep, and juicing up the beat for the millennial club heads, Tony Touch flawlessly did a Hip-hop classic move, using Ill samples to create something new that the youth could relate to.

Hip-hop heads around the world already know Tony Touch from years of underground mix tapes whether in Hip-hop, Reggae, or otherwise, and the NY legend, and we were all pleased to see him gaining some main-stream success.

With the sequel to the Piece Maker album (Piece Maker 2), Tony Touch continued to drop serious Hip-hop gold into our headphones, with hits like “Rocksteady” featuring Wu-tang heads Method Man, U-God, and Raekwon, “Dimelo“, and “Como Suena”, a Reggaeton party jam with Don Chezina.

An Allmusic review of The Piece Maker:

DJ Touch has assembled an impressive list of guests (both rappers and fellow turntablists) on this sprawling disc of state of the art hip-hop. Too bad some of it is marred by homophobic proclamations and played-out clichés (how many more Scarface interludes can the hip-hop community tolerate?). Still, appearances by Gang StarrWu-Tang ClanDe la Soul, and Mos Def rise above the muck and elevateTouch‘s skills above the pedestrian paths they sometimes take.
