Come Down Bboy – DJ CHiEF

“Come Down Bboy” is a DJ CHiEF personal project built on the influence of Soul and Funk in general and Nassau Funk Creators The Beginning of the End, of “Funky Nassau” fame.

This track takes guitar and vocal samples from The Beginning of the End’s “Come Down Baby” from their 1971 Funky Nassau album. The drum loops are a kick above the track’s original percussion line, and with a juiced-up Hip-hop beat, plus a bassline built upon the original, and some wild sample arrangement, voila.

The Funky Nassau album featured a dope collection of tracks that found their way into Hip-hop down the line, such as “What She Made Me Promise” whose opening measures featured as the intro to Pete Rock and C.L. Smooth’s “They Reminisce Over You.”.

Following up in 1976 with a self-titled album of equally innovative and exciting Funk jamsters like “That’s What I Get” and “Jump in the Water“, and you’re sure to come across the Bahamas Funk band here at Bboysounds.
