One of my favorite vinyls and a regular in my crate is Cru’s “Just Another Case”, a Hip-hop Classic from the late 90s era. Their track “Bubblin” was also the jam back in our high school years. With Slick Rick influence directly on the track, plus the influence of Rick the Ruler on the structure of the track itself, this was bound to be placed on the top shelf of the era.
As a Bboy track, the soft guitar intro, as well as the broken-up Hip-hop beat that drops on top of it, plus the straight-forward drum-driven beat, makes for a track that can be Ill as ever if played straight up, but if you take the 1200 up to 45rpm, whoa now, it’s gonna get crazed.
