Give It Up or Turnit a Loose – The Fantastics

With an ILL rendition of the James Brown 1969 Funky Classic “Give It Up or Turnit a Loose,” here come The Fantastics!

The Fantastics! are Greg Boraman (keyboards), Pete Collison (guitar), Raydn Hunter (bass), Mark Norton (brass), James Smith (drums) and Sulene Fleming (vocals). The band first began to take shape in 2003 after keyboard player Greg departed the ranks of the acclaimed deep funk outfit The Soul Destroyers (Jazzman Records) and answered the call to fill the keyboard seat in Reverend Cleatus & The Soul Saviours, the previous incarnation of the band.

After changing their name to The Fantastics! Freestyle Records founder Adrian Gibson picked up the band, resulting in their debut album ´Mighty Righteous´ in 2009 which featured vocals from UK soul legend Noel McKoy. The albums critical acclaim led to live performances on BBC Radio 2´s Mark Lamarr show (twice!) and Craig Charles’ BBC6 Music Funk & Soul Show as well as countless club and festival appearances across Europe.
