Monkey Tamarind – Beginning of the End

“Monkey Tamarind” is yet another seriously Funky and legendary Bboy Sound from The Beginning of the End‘s “Funky Nassau” album:

Along with the title track “Funky Nassau“, this album contained hit after hit, including the subtle jam “When She Made Me Promise”, sampled by Pete Rock and CL Smooth for the intro to “T.R.O.Y.”

I did a Bboy Refix of “Come Down Baby”, another Funky Nassau jam, called “Come Down Bboy”, which is very good, in my own opinion. Seriously, it’s Funky as f*@k!

Peaking in 1971 with the success of “Funky Nassau“, The Beginning of the End followed up in 1976 with a self-titled album that contains another bunch of Bboy smashes including “Jump in the Water” and “That’s What I Get.”

Much respect to the Munnings Brothers for some of the Funkiest and Illest sounds to ever come out of the Bahamas.
