The High Priestess of Soul Nina Simone (@ninasimonemusic) dropped many sounds that become intrinsic to Hip-Hop at large and the Bboy Sound in particular.
Tracks like “Funkier than a Mosquito’s Tweeter” kill the cipher for the Battle heads, while the many mixes of a song like “Sinnerman” make the House heads jack and even find their way into the mainstream commercial universe.
Pilooski’s (@pilooski) remix of “Take Care of Business” blends the breaks with the House and Hip-Hop sounds, and should light the cipher up with dope energy.
