Let the Sunshine In 2011 (Bboy Edit) – Flipout

DJ Flipout is known near and far for his skillz as a DJ and interviewer, and for the tracks he’s done with folks like Madchild, one of Canada’s wiliest MCs, as well as for sharing stages with the likes of Afrika Bambaataa and Grandmaster Flash.

Flipout (@djflipout) has been featured on Bboysounds since the early days, as well as on RadioBboy.com, and his sounds stand out among DJs for DOPE selection as well as technique.

In this episode, DJ Flipout reinterprets Julie Driscoll’s own interpretation of the Psychedelic Classic “Let the Sunshine”, using DOPE and innovative Bboy elements including one portion from relative newcomer Major Lazer.

Peep part of the bio from Flipout on his Facebook:

In Vancouver, DJ Flipout may be best known for his gig on the Beat 94.5, where he does a 100% live mixshow in studio featuring Top 40 hits for The 5 O’clock Traffic Jam. But before 2006, when he started doing these 250 mixshows a year on the radio, he’d already done a bunch of other stuff. He had published a rap magazine called “elements”, recorded a album with Madchild (from Swollen Members) and battled as a b-boy with his crew, Contents Under Pressure. He also battled MCs on the mic and won. And a couple years ago he battled as a DJ for the first time ever and he did pretty good. More about that later.
