Our own DJ CHiEF is back with a brand new album of original Bboy Breaks called “Bits and Pieces”, and it’s packed with cipher joints, battle breaks, and all types of jammies that will “tickle the very top of your mouth roof” (according to the intro).
As DJ CHiEF’s (@dj_chief) second album this year following January 2015’s “Instant Cipher Vol. 1“, “Bits and Pieces” has taken CHiEF’s style in new directions, with tracks influenced by Miami Bass, Classic Hip-Hop, international original Bboy Breaks, and of course, the Soul music that sustains it all.
The album includes a full mixtape of the track list (preview below), with individual tracks to follow.
With eight brand new Bboy joints, plus six previously published tracks, “Bits and Pieces” delivers a crates-worth of cipher fuel to Hip-Hop heads, along with key battle tracks to set it off (such as “Flart”, listen below).
Two tracks on the album (“España” and “Graffite”) were featured at Red Bull BC One’s Spain Cipher 2015, thanks to the illustrious DJ LadyFunk. Tracks like “Fredo” and “UPC” have been featured by DJ CHiEF at battles across South Florida in recent months, but now they are published and available to the whole world.
“Snake Bite”, a collaboration with Germany’s DJ Just-A-Kid (@nureinjunge), is already a worldwide cipher classic playing in battles from Spain to Indonesia to Florida (at 3:38 in the video below).
Other joints like “Sun Rize” and “Ballooon!” are already known to Bboys, Bgirls, and DJs around the world, joining four additional tracks that have been published recently, but are included in “Bits & Pieces”.
